Thank you for your interest in the International School of Los Angeles/Lycée International de Los Angeles.

The International School of Los Angeles is an independent, international, high-quality school that offers both a French immersion track from preschool through 12th grade, which prepares students for the French Baccalauréat; and a separate international high school track that prepares students for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in grades 11 – 12. Both programs fulfill the school’s mission of producing bilingual critical thinkers who are open-minded, confident, and caring global citizens.

The School was established in 1978 as a non-profit organization by visionaries of varied cultural backgrounds who felt that the Los Angeles community needed a school which would prepare children for life in an increasingly international environment. Our school is now recognized as one of the most academically challenging private high schools in the United States and continues its long commitment to academic excellence.

We promise our students a future full of possibilities and opportunities that come from being outstanding bilingual critical thinkers who have access to two of the most rigorous academic credentials in the world. With a preschool-12th grade education delivered in an intimate, nurturing and diverse environment, our students become caring global citizens prepared to thrive in a changing world.

Being immersed in a truly multicultural environment helps develop the ability to better understand one’s own culture – what makes it different, but also in which ways it is similar. Teachers, staff and students come from all over the world, each bringing their own experiences and perspectives. Our students study and live in a world community every day.

The International School of Los Angeles is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS), the International Baccalaureate (IB) in Geneva, and the French Ministry of Education. Our school also belongs to the Agence pour l’enseignement français à l’étranger (AEFE), Mission laïque française (MLF), and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) networks of schools.

Speak and think globally.
