Admissions Process
At Charterhouse Malaysia we recognise that human intelligence is broad. It is not limited just to academic intelligence but also includes social and emotional intelligence. It includes the ability to think deeply and evaluate that thinking, to grasp new situations quickly and, most importantly, to be able to assess personal abilities. Our unique Spectra Smarts programme aims to develop a student’s full range of potential, ensuring that they are well equipped to make their mark in the world.
Our students are encouraged to think and learn independently by engaging in projects in the local community. By devising innovative solutions to social issues, they not only build confidence and leadership skills, but also a deeper sense of social responsibility.
The admissions process reflects the minimum academic standard, life experience and personal characteristics that will form the foundation of a successful Charterhouse Malaysia student.
Who should apply to be a Charterhouse Malaysia Student?
A Charterhouse Malaysia student is one who can demonstrate high academic achievement coupled with a history of commitment to personal growth, service of others, student leadership, involvement in the life of the school and their community and the potential to be transformative. Applicants must demonstrate their potential to study, create and inspire and that they share the Charterhouse personality traits of perseverance, responsibility, moral courage, open-mindedness and kindness.

Places at Charterhouse Malaysia are limited and highly sought after. Academic standards are high and it is anticipated that for applications for A Level most students would be able to demonstrate a history of excellence in their national or international examinations. The minimum spread of results would be 6 grade Bs at IGCSE, SPM or equivalent and should include the subjects they wish to study at A-Level or a related discipline. For students applying for IGCSE we are expecting internal school grades to have a similar spread of grades with Bs generally being the minimum.
All students are chosen on merit, regardless of nationality, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or religion.
At the heart of our excellent school is a commitment to providing purposeful experiences that develop strong academic performance, critical life skills, a sense of service and the full breadth of human intelligences; ensuring our students are

Our educational programme innovatively blends the successful traditions from our history with modern technologies and the best evidence-based pedagogies of today, so that our students can progress to the very best universities globally with the confidence that they will be able to adapt to, and overcome any challenges the future may place in their path.
Charterhouse Malaysia is a learning organisation that is at the heart of the local community. Our service and entrepreneurial approach, whereby learning is not restricted by traditional curricula, classroom walls, or even the school campus, encourages and empowers our students to grasp the many opportunities provided to develop as young, compassionate leaders. By insisting that they apply their knowledge and skills to developing their capacity to affect change, including by researching issues that affect the communities in which they live, and by challenging them to develop solutions to these issues, we are preparing our students to be critically thoughtful, creative and inspirational citizens.
